Saturday evening we celebrated Christmas with my dad's side of the family. There was, of course, tons of food, lots of laughing, and some hideous Christmas outfits.
We stuffed ourselves with delicious appetizers.
And this? I am not even going to discuss it……
After dinner we opened gifts. We decided to do a white elephant(i.e. get rid of the crap that you don't want) exchange. It was a good time.
My cousin Paul gifted a portable(and probably used) toilet.
We would never convince an innocent three year old to stick his head through said toilet and put a wreath on his head because that might seem trashy.
After the gifts it was time for the much anticipated Christmas attire competition.
As you can see my entry was lovely…
My Aunt Missy was wearing a sweater featuring flamingos and martini glasses. You can't go wrong with that!
My favorite part of Sheryl's vest was the huge tassel on the zipper.
While all of these were perfectly hideous we were in for a treat with my cousin Sandy's entry. She arrived in a vest that had all the bells and whistles. Tulle, lights, and a matching headband. We were quite impressed. We had no idea that her husband would later put on one that matched.
I haven't laughed so much in a long time. Bravo Sandy!
The final vote was Emily 7, Sandy & D.J. 11.
After the sweater competition I had to tend to a sick Emily(the reason why I don't have a close up picture of her in the fabulous homemade shirt that we made). She became ill from eating too much fudge and spinach dip. Nothing like cleaning up vomit at a Christmas party… She later threw up in my sister's bed, sorry Joanna!
Brent and Joanna were fabulous hosts and we all had a great time. Here are a few more photos.
I almost forgot to mention the lovely angel that was gifted in the exchange. Paul received it and somehow it ended up in Brent and Joanna's master bathroom shower…hmmmm, I wonder how it got there??

I had a great time too! I will let you all try and guess where the angel will end up in the near future. By the way.. does anyone have Paul's address?
