Sunday morning we headed back to Brent and Joanna's to celebrate Christmas with my Dad and Karen. We had made egg casseroles the night before and enjoyed a very nice breakfast. Emily cleaned up- amazing how good she can be when she wants to open gifts.
Ava is actually interested in ripping the paper. She loved her new book, wooden giraffe toy, and drum. Thanks Grandpa Rich and Karen!
I was so overjoyed when I opened up this beauty. I have a small problem with wanting(and buying) small kitchen gadgetry. I saw this on an infomercial and knew that I must have it. I won't lie, I just like the name and love jumping around screaming Ninja and karate chopping things as I whip up a batch of hummus.
Emily got the Twilight game and a Borders gift card. She was feeling better from the night before, but I think the long weekend was starting to get to her. Here is a conversation from earlier in the morning.
Me: Emily, get your black Christmas tree shirt on.
Emily: Why do I have to wear it?
Me: Because it is Christmas and I prefer you not look homeless.
Emily: But it is uncomfortable
Me: It is a t shirt, what is uncomfortable about it?
Emily: I can't describe it.
She is now being really dramatic and using that whiny voice that makes me want to drink…
Me: Well unless you can tell me what is wrong with it you are wearing it.
Emily: Mom… you can't always see uncomfortableness!
She is now near tears and acting like I am making her wear a shirt made of pins and needles or something.
Me: Really? Well, you are wearing it or you are not opening any presents.
Matt: Merry Christmas everyone!
I forgot to take any pictures of Matt opening his gifts, typical. He got a really cool game and a gift card.
I am not really sure what to say about this other than yes, we do have a savings account for all the therapy Emily is probably going to need.
We headed home after lunch and spent the afternoon resting- we all needed it!
