Once again my husband has left me without words and not in a good way….

The Zookeeper: I am Dawn, wife and mother of three humans and fifteen non humans. Four cats, three dogs and eight chickens make up the Kruse zoo.

Matt is my husband and co-zookeeper. He has the amazing ability and patience to live in a house where chaos ensues on a daily basis.

Emily is our first born. She is 12 and all sass. She loves animals and aspires to be a marine biologist. She is creative, funny, and not afraid to call a spade a spade, which I (sometimes) love about her.

Kevin is our second born. He was diagnosed in the womb with several complex heart defects. He beat the odds and made it to term. He underwent two surgeries on his heart in the first few weeks of life, recovered, and grew into a happy, healthy, and adventuresome little boy. He died unexpectedly on May 2, 2008, at the age of 2, due to heart failure. He is forever in our hearts and will always be my "sweet boy".

Ava is our third born. She entered the world on July 18, 2009. She lives on avocados and watermelon. She likes to read books, make messes, and scream.
