We have been busy, busy, busy. Emily has volleyball practice, tournaments, and regionals in Des Moines coming up. She also has quiz bowl, and track practice starts today.
Matt and I went to Galena this past weekend sans kids. It was nice to get a full nights sleep for the first time in quite awhile. Ava and Emily had a great time at their grandparents.
We also are taking a trip to Dauphin Island, AL soon. We rented a home right on the coast. The waves wash up under the house at high tide. I am still trying to convince Matt that he doesn't need to wear a life jacket to bed.
I have lost almost 15 pounds in the last month. YEE HAW!!!
Emily got straight A's for the third quarter in a row. Clearly she takes after me(not really, her brains are from Matt- just don't tell him I said that).
We got three messages on our answering machine from the Mitt Romney campaign this past weekend. Awesome. Did they not see my Obama Mama bumper sticker?
Since I have drastically cut back on my wine drinking(wine is not great for weight loss) my Gnome(Vern) has picked up the slack. I found him passed out in the chicken coop this morning. No pictures, I wouldn't embarrass him like that.
We got a saw from Matt's dad to cut down more of the small obnoxious evergreens in our yard. Matt said I can't use the saw, I say whatever. Is it weird to want a chainsaw for your birthday? They just seem so versatile.
I am going to go take a nap with Ava, one of the many perks of being a stay-at-home mom.
